A runner had to be airlifted off a Fife mountain range after he suffered a leg injury on Sunday morning.
Ochils Mountain Rescue Team were called to assist Police Scotland to rescue a runner on West Lomond around 10.35am.
The man had suffered a suspected ankle injury near the summit of the hill.
A rescue 199 coastguard helicopter from Prestwick was called, and the man was taken to Ninewells Hospital where he is currently receiving treatment.
A spokesperson for Ochils Mountain Rescue Team said: “There was a party of three hill runners on the top of West Lomond, and one of them went over on his ankle and couldn’t walk.
“They phoned the police, and the police phoned mountain rescue. We had a team doctor on the scene about an hour after the call.
“He had sustained a fairly nasty lower leg injury, and it was freezing cold temperatures.
“Luckily, they were assisted by passing hill walkers, who stayed with him until we got there.
“We transported the casualty to a helicopter, who took him to Ninewells Hospital.
“We wish him a speedy recovery and thank our HM Coastguard colleagues, and the hillwalkers who assisted the casualty.”
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were made aware of an injured man on West Lomond Hill in Fife around 10.35am on Sunday, 13 February.
“The man was taken to hospital after he was assisted by Ochils Mountain Rescue Team and a HM Coastguard helicopter.”
