A group of Edinburgh schoolchildren has teamed up with an Irish TikTok group to create a Gaelic rap.
Pupils at Bun-sgoil Taobh na Pàirce (Parkside Primary School) teamed up with Irish viral sensations Kabin Crew to create a rap in both Irish and Scottish Gaelic.
Their song Meas Mór, which translates to Big Respect, has been released alongside a music video filmed in both cities.
Kabin Crew are already known for racking up millions of views across social media, and teamed up with young musicians from Cork, including mega viral hit The Spark, last year.

The two Gaelic-speaking groups first connected through online writing sessions before they decided to co-create the track, which explores the theme of Edinburgh vs Cork using a unique hybrid of the two languages.
While the track was written by the group in Cork, the music video was filmed in Edinburgh, as part of an initiative that explores the variations in language and culture between the two versions of Gaelic.

By writing and performing in Scottish and Irish Gaelic, these young artists are hoping that this collaboration will give a voice to what have historically been underrepresented languages and show the beauty of creative collaboration.
