Police are continuing their search for a missing man who disappeared 11 weeks ago.
Mountain rescue officers will now join in the hunt for Billy McDowell, who was last seen in July.
The family of the “happy go lucky” 58-year-old, from Whitburn in West Lothian, said they feel “incomplete without him”.
In a statement earlier released through police, they said: “Billy is the last person we think of before we go to bed at night and the first thing we think of when we wake up.
“Unfortunately we have no clue what has happened to him or where he is.”
Mr McDowell was last spotted in Whitburn’s West Main Street at around 11.40am on Tuesday, July 28.
He then visited a number of other locations in his home town before disappearing.
Mr McDowell was eventually reported missing on Sunday, August 2.
Despite extensive searches and police enquiries, no further trace of him has been found.
Police will continue further searches throughout Thursday and Friday with support from Tweed Valley Mountain Rescue Team.
Inspector Myles Marshall said: “It is now 11 weeks since Billy was last seen and our enquiries remain ongoing.
“It has been an incredibly challenging time for his family and we are keeping them fully informed of the work we are carrying out.
“I would like to take the opportunity to thank the wider Whitburn community for their support of our enquiries.
“I would urge anyone with information about Billy or his whereabouts to contact police.”
