Search for driver involved in single-car crash on A74

Police are searching for the driver of a car involved in a collision on the A74.

The white Skoda Octavia estate crashed on the southbound carriageway near junction 16 at Johnstonebridge around 7.40pm on Sunday.

The vehicle left the scene following the crash and was later seen at a service station adjacent to junction 16.

Investigations are ongoing to trace the driver.

Constable Callum Kingstree said: “We are keen to ensure the driver is safe and well and would appeal to them to contact us.

“We’d also ask anyone who witnessed the crash, or has dash-cam footage that could assist our enquiries to come forward.”
