A sheep has died, and another has been left covered in bite marks amid a spate of attacks at a field in the Borders.
Police said they are investigating two separate sheep-worrying incidents at a field adjacent to Rosebank Cemetery on Shedden Park Road in Kelso.
The first incident took place on New Year’s Day when three sheep were attacked. One of the sheep died as a result.
In a second incident on January 13, one sheep was attacked between 9.15am and 10am in the same area.
The sheep was found to have several bite marks on its head and body.
Officers are appealing for witnesses to either of the incidents to come forward.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “Police are appealing for witnesses with regards to two separate sheep worrying incidents at a field adjacent to Rosebank Cemetery, Shedden Park Road, Kelso.
“The first incident occurred on January 1, 2025, whereby three sheep were attacked.
“One of the sheep died as a result.
“The second incident occurred between 9.15am and 10am on January 13, 2025, where one sheep was attacked.
“The sheep had several bite marks on its head and body.
