Six people were treated by paramedics after a major fire broke out in a block of flats in Edinburgh.
Emergency services were called to Gunnet Court in the city’s Muirhouse View at around 10.55pm on Thursday.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service dispatched six fire engines to the scene, where firefighters battled a “well-developed” fire.
Nearby properties and residents were evacuated.
Six casualties received precautionary check-ups from Scottish Ambulance Service staff but did not need to attend hospital.
Fire crews made the area safe before leaving the scene.
There were no reports of injuries and police said enquiries into the blaze are ongoing.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 10.55pm on Thursday, June 19, 2025, officers received a report of a fire at a property on Muirhouse View, Edinburgh.
“There were no reported injuries. A number of properties were evacuated, and residents have now returned.
“Enquiries into the cause of the fire are ongoing.”
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 10.50pm on Thursday, June 19 to reports of a fire within a block of flats in Edinburgh.
“Operations Control mobilised six appliances to the city’s Gunnet Court, where firefighters worked to extinguish a well-developed fire.
“Crews extinguished the fire and worked to make the area safe before leaving the scene.
“Six casualties received a precautionary check-up by Scottish Ambulance Service personnel but did not require to attend hospital.”
