A social care worker from Edinburgh has been struck off after he was convicted of a violent abduction.

Kuruvilla George was found guilty of not allowing a woman to leave a car and punching her in the face and forcing her head between her legs.

He was convicted of abusive behaviour and sexual harm at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on April 9, 2024.

The incident did not occur whilst George was employed as a social care worker, however, the Scottish Social Services Council believe his continued employment would “cause alarm”.

The report read: “If the same or similar behaviour were to be repeated, there would almost certainly be physical and/or emotional harm to a member of the public.”
