Suspect charged with attempted murder after man found seriously injured in home

A man has been charged in connection with the attempted murder of a man found seriously injured in an Edinburgh home.

Emergency services were called to a property on Wardlaw Street at around 2.40pm following reports that a 50-year-old man was injured.

He was taken to hospital for treatment, where his condition is described as serious but not critical.

A 39-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the incident.

Detective Inspector Alan Sharp said: “Our enquiries are ongoing in the Wardlaw Street area.

“We would urge any witnesses or anyone with information which may assist our investigation to contact us.”
