Teenager arrested after woman, 18, raped in park

A teenager has been arrested after a teenage girl was raped in a park in Fife.

The 18-year-old was attacked in the Volunteers Garden area of Kirkcaldy between 10.30pm and 11.45pm on Saturday.

A 17-year-old male has been arrested and charged in connection with the incident.

He has since been released on an undertaking, and will appear in court at a later date.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “A 17 year-old male has been arrested and charged in connection with the serious sexual assault of a 18-year-old woman in the Volunteers Green area of Kirkcaldy on the evening of Saturday, September 7, 2024.

“He was released on an undertaking to appear in court on a later date.”
