A teenager has been charged with robbery after a ten-year-old was allegedly targeted at a city park.
The 13-year-old has also been charged with a separate attempted robbery on the same day.
The ten-year-old was with two friends on Zetland Place, near its junction with Stirling Road at Lomond Park in Edinburgh, when he is said to have been threatened and robbed of coins on Thursday.
The alleged incident happened on the capital’s Primrose Bank Road soon after.
Police confirmed on Wednesday that the teenager had been charged and will be reported to the Youth Justice Assessor.
A police spokesman said: “A 13-year-old boy has been charged in connection with a robbery and attempted robbery which happened in Edinburgh on Thursday 31, March, 2022.
“A ten-year-old boy was robbed of some coins at Lomond Park, Zetland Place at Stirling Road. The attempted robbery happened Primrose Bank Road in Edinburgh.”
