Three more penguin chicks hatch at Edinburgh Zoo

Edinburgh Zoo has welcomed three more penguin chicks to its colony.

The three gentoo chicks, who have all hatched since Wednesday, each weighed around 98g at birth – roughly the same as a bar of soap.

It comes after two Northern rockhopper chicks arrived just a few days prior – just in time for World Penguin Day.

The wildlife conservation charity’s keepers hope to welcome even more youngsters to the colony in the coming weeks.

The penguin chicks are being cared for by their parents at Penguins Rock, Europe’s largest outdoor penguin pool at the zoo.
