A lifeboat rescued three people after their inflatable kayak began to lose air in East Lothian.
The individuals got into difficulty shortly before 12pm on Friday, sparking a response from North Berwick RNLI.
Two kayakers were able to get to safety on Craigleith Island, while the third was located by the crew.
They were assessed and found not to be injured, before being taken back to North Berwick.
An RNLI statement said: “The casualties were wearing personal flotation devices and had a means of calling for help.
“They were well prepared and did the right thing when the unexpected occurred.
“It is a timely reminder to check all your equipment thoroughly prior to setting out and that having the correct equipment pays off.”
They then cautioned: “The weather is meant to be good this weekend but expect a strong easterly sea breeze to build in the afternoons.
“Always check the forecast conditions and tides.
“We recommend inflatables are used only in the confines of the boating pond on North Berwick’s east beach.”
