Two dogs have been seized by police after a man and a Cockapoo were injured in Bathgate.

The 44-year-old was on Bisset Place around 1.50pm on Wednesday when he and his two-year-old dog were attacked by two other dogs believed to be Staffordshire and Mongrel breeds.

The man sustained minor injuries and received medical treatment.

His dog was seriously injured and is being treated at a local vet.

The dog owners, two women aged 38 and 28 years, have been reported to the Procurator Fiscal for various offences following the incident.

The dogs have been seized by police and are no longer with their owners.
