Detectives are treating two early-morning car fires, which broke out within minutes of each other in Fife, as linked.
Emergency services were alerted to the vehicle blazes on Kirkcaldy’s Lawson Gardens and Haig Avenue between 3.05am and 3.25am on Thursday morning.
Both fires are being treated as wilful by Police Scotland, however, no arrests have been made in connection.
Images shared with STV News show a vehicle engulfed in flames on Haig Avenue. The blaze was extinguished and the area made safe by fire crews.
No one was injured as a result.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers in Kirkcaldy are investigating two reports of wilful fireraising, as cars were set alight at Lawson Gardens and Haig Avenue, in the early hours of Thursday, November 13, 2025. The incidents happened around 3.05am and 3.25am respectively, and are being treated as linked.
“Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101, quoting incident number 0292 of November 13, 2025.”
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson added: “We were alerted at 3.22am on Thursday, November 13 to reports of a vehicle fire in Kirkcaldy.
“Operations Control mobilised one appliance to the town’s Haig Avenue, where firefighters extinguished the fire and worked to make the area safe.
“There were no casualties.”
