Two men have appeared in court charged with the attempted murder of a 38-year-old in Edinburgh.
The victim was allegedly attacked by a gang of four men in the Calder Gardens area of the city on Thursday afternoon.
He was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh for treatment.
Two men, aged 25 and 21, have since been arrested and charged in connection with the attack.
The pair both appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Saturday.
Lee Lacey, of Edinburgh, and Ciaran Brennan, of Dublin, were both charged with attempted murder and possession of weapons.
Both men made no plea.
Lacey was committed for further examination and granted bail, while Brennan was committed for further examination and remanded in custody.
Brennan will next appear in court within eight days, while Lacey’s next appearance is yet to be determined.
