Two teenage girls have been charged in connection with assaults on board a bus at Dunfermline Bus Station.

The incident, which involved a group of youths, occurred on the X24 Stagecoach service at around 9.30pm on Tuesday.

Officers have charged two girls following the attacks. The severity of any injuries is not known.

A report is due to be submitted to the relevant authorities.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Two teenage females have been charged in connection with assaults on a bus in the Queen Anne Street area of Dunfermline which happened around 9.30pm on Tuesday, June 23, 2026.

“A report will be submitted to the relevant authorities.”

Police Scotland said it has been made aware of a number of assaults and anti-social behaviour involving youths in the area.

Sergeant Fraser Simpson has asked parents and guardians to help stamp out the behaviour, which is “not acceptable and will not be tolerated.”

He added: “Officers carry out regular patrols of the bus station and surrounding areas as a deterrent and we’re also working closely with our partner agencies to tackle the issue.

“We cannot do this alone and I would urge parents and carers to help. Please speak to your young people about the dangers and consequences of this type of behaviour, encourage them to congregate in outdoor spaces and act in a responsible manner.”
