Two teen boys have been charged in connection with the alleged serious assault and robbery of a man and woman on Monday.
A 50-year-old man and 32-year-old woman were at the pedestrian crossing at Leith Street and Princes Street junction in Edinburgh at around 10pm on October 28 when they were reportedly targeted at random by a group of people.
They were both injured and taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary for treatment.
The suspects, all believed to be aged between 14 and 20, ran off towards St James Quarter and Multrees Walk.
Officers have charged two 15-year-old boys in connection with the incident. An investigation is still ongoing as detectives confirm they are following positive lines of enquiry.
Detective sergeant Steven Gray said: “We would like to thank the numerous members of the public who have assisted our investigation so far and continue to appeal for information, as enquiries remain ongoing.
