Police are urgently appealing to trace a vulnerable man missing from Perth after a rucksack containing his belongings was found near a river.
Richard Massey, 46, was last seen at a bus shelter on Main Road, opposite Kirkhill Drive, in Luncarty around 11am on Saturday, April 4.
A number 34 bus passed by a short time later, although it’s not known if Richard got on the bus.
On Monday, officers found the rucksack near to the River Tay at Willowgate.
He was wearing a white hooded puffer style jacket with black shoulder patches, dark-coloured trousers, white trainers, a dark-coloured baseball cap and reflective sunglasses.
No-one has seen or heard from Richard since then and concern is growing.
Extensive enquiries are under way to locate Richard, and officers are checking any relevant CCTV footage for any additional information on where he may have gone.
Inspector Mark Craig said: “If anyone has seen Richard or has any information on where he may be, please do get in touch. I would also ask people to check any sheds or outbuildings in case Richard is seeking shelter within.”
Anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland via 101.
