A van driver has died and two other motorists have been left injured following a three-vehicle crash in the Borders.

Police were called to a report of a crash involving a white Ford Transit, a green Suzuki SX4 and a white Honda ZR-V on the A68 near St Boswells around 9pm on Saturday.

Emergency services attended but the 38-year-old male van driver later died in hospital. His family has been informed.

The 62-year-old female driver of the Suzuki suffered a serious injury as a result of the collision and the 66-year-old male driver of the Honda sustained minor injuries.

The road was closed to allow for collision investigation to be carried out and was re-opened around 4.40am on Sunday September 13.

Police are appealing for information.

Sergeant Fraser Mitchell said: “Our thoughts are with the family of the man who died at this extremely difficult time.

“I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the crash or who saw any of these vehicles prior to the collision, to please get in touch with officers.

“I’d also ask those with dash-cam footage who were driving in the area at the time to review this to see if it has captured anything that could assist with our investigation.”

“Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 3354 of 12 September, 2026.”
