A man was taken to hospital with serious injuries to his head and body after being attacked on a West Lothian street in broad daylight.
The 23-year-old victim was walking on Riddochhill Road in Blackburn at around 11.30am on Friday, November 5.
A man got out of a Ford Transit and seriously assaulted him badly injuring him before leaving in the van.
The victim was taken to St John’s Hospital for treatment.
The suspect is described as around 5ft 11in, of stocky build, wearing black tracksuit top and bottoms. He has a Scottish accent.
Police have appealed to the public for help and urged any witnesses to come forward.
Detective constable David McDougall, of Livingston CID, said: “The victim is now at home recovering from his injuries and we are carrying out enquiries to trace the man responsible.
“He is described as being around 5ft 11in in height, of stocky build, he had Scottish accent and was wearing a black tracksuit top and black tracksuit bottoms. He then left the area in a Ford Transit.
“I would appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time and witnessed the assault or anyone who has information that will assist this investigation to contact us through 101 quoting reference number 1195 of Friday, November 5.
“Alternatively Crimestoppers can be contacted on 0800 555 111, where anonymity can be maintained.”
