A suspected explosive has been blown up by the Royal Navy bomb squad in Dunfermline.
The controlled explosion was carried out after a “possible ordnance item” was found on Linburn Road.
Emergency services were called at around 11.05am on Monday following the discovery.
The Explosive Ordnance Disposal unit attended and removed the item to carry out a controlled explosion.
A video of the scene shows men in military uniform attending the incident near some roadworks.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 11.05am on Monday, February 9, 2026, we were called to a report of a possible ordnance item found in Linburn Road, Dunfermline.
“EOD attended and removed the item to carry out a controlled explosion.”
