Man missing from Welsh hospital 'believed to be in Edinburgh'

Members of the public have been warned not to approach him directly if they spot him.

A man who went missing from hospital in South Wales in now “believed to be in Edinburgh”, police have said.

Jamie Morgan, 38, was last seen at 10.30am on Monday, and disappeared from a hospital in Rhondda.

Police said he was travelling to Pontypridd on the day he went missing, but is now believed to be in Edinburgh or its surrounding areas.

Edinburgh police said that he is currently of larger build than the released image shows.

Members of the public have also been warned to not make a direct approach if they spot him, and instead to contact either their local police, or South Wales Police.

A Police Scotland statement said: “Jamie is asked to make contact to confirm he is safe and well and is urged to return to the hospital or present himself to police.

“Anybody who has seen him is advised not to make a direct approach, but to contact South Wales Police on 01656 655555 or your local police.”
