A woman has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after being struck by a car in Falkirk.
Officers were alerted to the incident that happened on Nethermains Road, Denny, at around 3pm on Thursday.
The 76-year-old female pedestrian was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow for treatment to serious injuries.
Police confirmed the driver of the white Suzuki SX4 car involved in the accident was uninjured.
A 38-year-old woman has been arrested in connection with a road traffic offence.
Enquiries into the incident are ongoing, and the force is urging anyone with information to come forward.
Constable Ian Marshall, of the Road Policing Unit in Stirling, said: “An investigation is ongoing to establish the full circumstances which led to this incident.
“I would urge any witnesses or anyone who have dash-cam footage from the area to get in touch.
“Please call 101, quoting reference 1873 of January 9, 2025.”
