A probe has been launched after a woman died after being found unresponsive in Livingston.

Emergency services were called to Ogilvie Way around 10.40am on Friday.

A 60-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene. The death is not believed to be suspicious.

The road had been closed while investigations were carried out and drivers and pedestrians were urged to avoid the area. It has since reopened.

An investigation has been launched into the death by the Health and Safety Executive.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 10.40am on Friday, May 9, 2025, we were made aware of an unresponsive woman in Ogilvie Road, Livingston.

“Emergency services attended, and the 60-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

“The death is being treated as unexplained but not believed to be suspicious.

“Enquiries are continuing and the Health and Safety Executive has been notified.”
