A woman has died after a car crashed into a garden fence in Dunfermline on Wednesday.

Emergency services were called to Robertson Road near the junction with Adamson Crescent shortly before 3pm following reports of a collision involving a blue Vauxhall Corsa.

A 64-year-old woman, who was the driver of the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The road was closed to allow for an investigation and fully reopened around 7.25pm.

Sergeant Chris Anderson, of the Road Policing Unit in Glenrothes, said: “Our thoughts are with the woman who died in this incident.

“Our enquiries are ongoing and I would ask anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who has any dashcam or private CCTV from the area to get in touch if you haven’t already spoken to us.

“Anyone who can help is asked to call 101, quoting reference 1947 of January 22.”
