A young woman has died, and four people have been injured following a crash between two cars and a van in Fife.
Police were called to Standing Stane Road around 1.05pm on Hogmanay following a collision between a BMW, Mercedes Sprinter van and Ford Focus.
A 26-year-old woman, who was the driver of the BMW, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The passenger of the same car, a 22-year-old man and the driver of the van, a 46-year-old man, were taken to Ninewells Hospital for treatment.
A 62-year-old woman and a 63-year-old man from the third vehicle were taken to Victoria Hospital for treatment and later released.
Inspector James Henry said: “Our thoughts are with the families of all those involved.”
The road was closed for collision investigation and opened at 8am on Wednesday.
