A woman has died after being found seriously injured following a disturbance at a house in Edinburgh.

Police were called to a property in Craigievar Square around 8.45pm on Monday.

A 44-year-old woman was found with serious injuries and pronounced dead at the scene.

Her family have been informed.

A 46-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident, and investigations are ongoing.

Police have said there is no risk to the wider public and officers will remain in the area while enquiries continue.
