A woman was mobbed by around ten schoolchildren in a “frightening” assault and attempted robbery in Edinburgh.
The incident happened in Sloan Street, where it meets Iona Street, at around 8.30pm on Friday.
The 27-year-old victim was walking with her electric scooter when the group of youths pounced.
The boys and girls surrounded her as two of the males shouted at her, pushed her and tried to grab her scooter.
The victim managed to break free and rode off on her scooter towards Easter Road.
Both boys had blonde hair and are believed to be aged between 13-14. One was around 5ft 2in. The other was around 5ft and was wearing a black hooded jacket and black trousers.
Detective inspector Clark Martin said: “Thankfully the victim was not injured, but this was still a very frightening experience for her, and it is vital we trace the individuals responsible.
“I am appealing for anyone who was in the area last Friday evening and witnessed the incident, or noticed a group of youths acting suspiciously, to please get in touch.”
