Detectives have launched a fresh appeal for information one week on after a woman fought off a potential rapist in a Fife park.
Investigating officers said the victim may have injured the attacker and are urging anyone who is concerned about someone with a recent hand injury to contact police.
The 25-year-old victim was attacked within Pittencrieff Park in Dunfermline at around 6.20am on Sunday, May 24.
The man, who approached from Pittencrieff Street, followed the woman into the popular park before pushing her to the ground.
The victim struggled with the man until he gave up and ran off in the direction of the Peacock Sanctuary and picnic area.
Police are treating the attack as assault with intent to rape.
The suspect is believed to be aged between 30 and 40-years-old, of average build and around 5ft 7-9in with short dark hair.
He was wearing dark-framed round glasses, dark clothing and dark running shoes.
Detective inspector Kelly McEwan said: “Our enquiries have been ongoing and we have conducted a number of high visibility patrols in the area to provide reassurance and speak to potential witnesses.
“Thankfully, the victim was able to fend the suspect off before she was potentially seriously hurt and she may have injured the suspect’s hand in the process.
“I would encourage anyone that may know of someone with a recent hand injury who they have concerns about to contact us.”
