Thousands of comic book fans are welcoming a host of much loved superheroes and movie characters to Glasgow this weekend for a two-day event at the St Enoch Centre.
Batman and Iron Man will be making an appearance alongside several well-known characters from Star Wars and Ghostbusters.
Fans will also be able to get a first hand look at the original Batmobile from the Caped Crusader’s 1989 movie, a bat signal made specially for the event and a seven-foot tall Bumble Bee Transformer.
The free Comic Con event is running from 10am until 6pm on Saturday and Sunday.
Although tickets are free visitors are advised to book beforehand to avoid disappointment due to capacity restrictions on the day with organisers expecting up to 10,000 people to attend across the weekend.
Organisers BGCP say fans can expect everything comic books ( including first appearance editions), action figures, statues, trading cards, keyrings, t-shirts, printed art and much more to be on sale.
There will also be workshops that can be purchased such as slime making workshops and superhero mask sessions for kids.
Ian Bonar, organiser of BGCP Comic Con, said “We had a great tester event in April and had an amazing turn out so we’ve managed to secure a Batmobile as seen in the 1989 Batman movie, which is seen as the best Batman movie with the best Batmobile, so we’re excited to have it in Glasgow.
“We’ll also have Batman there with the vehicle and we’ve had our own full scale Batsignal created just for the occasion.
“We’ll also have our seven foot tall Bumblebee the Transformer which is a head turner and a fully realistic Iron Man for people to meet as well as all sorts of Star Wars characters, Ghostbusters and other various props to go along with all our Comic Con traders spread throughout the full centre.”
Tickets are free and can be ordered via the BGCP website.
