Dame Judi Dench and Sharleen Spiteri saw in the new year in style by belting out an Abba hit at a Hogmanay celebration in Aberdeenshire.
Revellers at The Fife Arms in Braemar were delighted when Dame Judi took to the keys as the Texas star belted out Waterloo.
Shocked at Dame Judi’s capabilities, Spiteri noted “what a pianist!” as the Oscar winner tinkled the ivories.
TwitterEwan Venters, CEO of Artfarm who own The Fife Arms, said the impromptu moment occurred after “lots of reeling” after guests enjoyed a four course dinner and ceilidh at the venue.
He told STV News: “Judi of course loves Scotland, having played Queen Victoria on so many occasions.
“Judi Dench and Sharleen Spiteri were staying at the hotel and we had an impromptu moment at the piano – after lots of reeling.”
