Gordon Brown is to appear on stage at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe during a special one-off live show.
The former Prime Minister will guest on comedian Matt Forde’s ‘The Political Party’ podcast in front of an audience at the capital’s McEwan Hall.
The ex-Labour Leader, who spent a decade as chancellor before succeeding Tony Blair as PM in 2007, is to “delve into his iconic political career” during the interview as part of the Underbelly line up in August.
Brown, 71, previously appeared at the Edinburgh Book Festival in 2019, and joins a slew of political heavyweights to book in dates for the world-renowned festival’s 75th birthday.
Current Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer, predecessor Jeremy Corbyn and shadow chancellor Angela Rayner are all set to join broadcaster Iain Dale for a series of ‘in conversation with…’ events at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre.
Culture secretary Nadine Dorries, former Scottish Conservatives leader Ruth Davidson and ex-MP Rory Stewart are also slated to appear alongside Dale and fellow broadcaster Jacqui Smith.
Tickets for all events are scheduled to go on sale later this week.
