Scotland’s largest celebration of its national drink is set for a ‘homecoming’ in Glasgow after organisers confirmed its return to the city.
The National Whisky Festival of Scotland has announced its flagship showcase of the water of life will take place at SWG3 on Saturday, May 7.
The venue will host a wide range of the spirit’s producers offering everything from “delicate and approachable drams to peat-powered favourites” at the event.
Whisky fans will be able to sample the very best from across the industry, enjoy expertly created cocktails from master mixologists and dance to live music as part of the collaboration between the festival and Celtic Connections.
Tickets to the two sessions, held from 12pm-3:30pm and 4:15pm-7:45pm respectively, include the chance to try as many drams as possible, while an extensive food menu will also be on offer.
Organisers of the festival said: “The National Whisky Festival specially curates every exhibitor line up, aiming to feature both the well-known and celebrated as well as new, up and coming whisky producers from around the world.
“From single malts and blends to independent bottlers and limited edition single casks. The festival will also feature other delicious liquids from acclaimed producers of rum, gin, liqueurs and even the intriguing new whisky mixer – Birchwater.”
