Gordon Ramsay has opened up about his daughter Holly’s festive nuptials to Olympian Adam Peaty on This Morning.
Joined by daughter Tilly Ramsay, the pair spoke to hosts Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley on Monday for an exclusive chat about the wedding and who cooked the Christmas dinner this year.
Joining the hosts live in the show’s new central London studio, Tilly spoke of her joy at her sister Holly’s big day.
Tilly said: “It was so emotional but incredible to see her and Adam so happy. It was a big day for all of us.”
Discussing his father-of-the-bride’s speech, Gordon said: “It’s tough, honestly. Being the dad with three daughters, you dream of that moment, and that moment arrives, and you’re just like a hot mess. But the speech was perfect, it went well, and you’ve got to find that… You’ve got to be warm, emotional… It’s a tough gig.”
Tilly continued: “Honestly, I think it was Christmas Eve, I was sat in his room for an hour as he was just reading through it, [his speech]. Going through everything, but no tweaks were needed. It was perfect. It made everybody cry.”
This MorningRevealing Holly wore her mum Tana’s wedding dress during an outfit change on the day, Gordon said: “Honestly, it was a bit of a shock because she had it on for the majority of the night”, before joking: “I don’t know why you need to change three times?!”
Teasing her dad, Tilly said: “Let her do it, Dad, it doesn’t matter!” Gordon: “I know, but three times? That’s three times the bill…” and Tilly clarified, “No, one was mums!”
Later, Gordon asked Tilly: “Would you wear mums?” and Tilly told him: “I would love to”. Gordon joked, “You’ve got to get engaged.” Laughing, Tilly told him, “Moving on, Dad!”
Tilly also shared that she cooked Christmas lunch this year: “Christmas was lovely, Christmas was wonderful, I cooked Christmas lunch… Obviously, Dad had to slice the turkey for that glory moment!”
Later in the show, the duo will return to the kitchen together to make egg-fried rice and teriyaki salmon.
