Hollywood actress Vanessa Hudgens has revealed she is “obsessed” with Scotland.
The former High School Musical star recently spent time in Glasgow and Edinburgh while filming scenes for the sequel to her Netflix hit The Princess Switch.
Speaking on American talk show Live with Kelly and Ryan, the 31-year-old gave a demonstration on how to pronounce the Scottish capital.
She said: “I had to say it in the movie, and I was like ‘how do I say the place that we’re in?’.
“It looks like Edin-burg, but you can’t say Edin-burg, so I was like Edin-brah. That’s where I landed.”
Hudgens, who will next be seen on the big screen in Bad Boys for Life alongside Will Smith and Martin Lawrence, agreed with Ryan Seacrest that Scotland was beautiful.
She said: “I am so obsessed. It’s the place that I never knew I needed to be at.
“It literally seems like Harry Potter [came] to life. The history is insane. The witch trials [are] crazy – it’s just stuff that I love.”
The star enjoyed the Edinburgh Hogmanay festivities and took part in the torchlight procession.
Hudgens, who was wearing a puffer jacket to keep out the cold, joked: “A girl literally walks by me in Edinburgh and she was like ‘she’s wearing a sleeping bag’.”
In The Princess Switch, Hudgens plays a talented baker who swaps lives with a duchess that looks just like her.
As well as reprising the two roles for The Princess Switch: Switched Again, Hudgens will also star as a third character – party girl Fiona, who is out to foil the previous pair’s plans.
The Princess Switch: Switched Again is expected to be released on Netflix later this year.
