Kim Kardashian has been awarded 1 euro by a French court after she was the victim of an armed robbery in Paris in 2016.
The US celebrity asked for the paltry sum and claimed the ruling was a victory.
Eight people were found guilty last year for their roles in what Kardashian described as “the most terrifying experience of my life.”
During the criminal trial in 2025, she said: “I was certain that was the moment that he was going to rape me,” recalling how one robber pulled her toward him while she was wearing only a bathrobe.
“I absolutely did think I was going to die,” she added.
They allegedly tied her hands, dragged her towards the bathtub, and pointed a gun at her temple.
Kardashian described how she begged the robbers, telling them, “I have babies”. One allegedly replied that she would be OK if she stayed quiet.
The court awarded a former receptionist at the Hôtel de Pourtalès, where Kardashian was staying during Paris Fashion Week when the heist took place, €109,516 (£93,763), according to his lawyer.
The receptionist said he was traumatised by the October 2, 2016, robbery.
He had sought 550,000 euros (£470,890) in damages and interest. His lawyer, Mohand Ouidja, welcomed the decision as a victory.
The court awarded the hotel 50,000 euros (£42,808).
The court awarded 1 euro to Simone Bretter, Kardashian’s stylist, who was present during the robbery.
Two of the robbers, dressed as police, forced their way into her suite, bound Kardashian with zip ties and tape before making off with more than $6 million (£4.5m) in jewellery, including a diamond ring she had worn that night to a Givenchy show.
Because of their ages, the robbers became known in France as “les papys braqueurs,” or the grandpa robbers.
Six of them were in their 60s and 70s when they were tried for armed robbery, kidnapping, gang association and other charges.
With time already served in pretrial detention, none of those found guilty went back to prison. None of them appealed the verdict.
The sum awarded by the court will be paid by the men who were found guilty of the crime.
Kardashian said in a statement issued afterwards that she was “deeply grateful to the French authorities for pursuing justice in this case.”
“The crime was the most terrifying experience of my life, leaving a lasting impact on me and my family,” the celebrity said.
“While I’ll never forget what happened, I believe in the power of growth and accountability and pray for healing for all. I remain committed to advocating for justice and promoting a fair legal system.”
