A USA-themed onesie and gold sunglasses worn by Lewis Capaldi are being auctioned off in aid of a children’s charity.
Capaldi has donated the outfit to CHAS, who support children with life-shortening conditions and their families.
The 24-year-old Scots singer wore the outfit after his song Someone You Loved stormed the US Billboard singles charts in 2019.
Lewis stated at the time: “I think we can all agree this means I’m well on my way to becoming America’s sweetheart and I for one am over the moon. x”
The Whitburn superstar’s prediction came true a few weeks later when he became the first Scottish solo artist to reach the number one spot in the US in nearly 40 years.
After securing the top spot, Lewis told Billboard magazine: “I feel like America’s sweetheart, at least for a moment. I feel like I’m the sweetest heart in all of the US of A.”
Someone You Loved was a hit across the world, spending seven weeks at number one in the UK and also topping the charts in Canada, Ireland, Malaysia and the Czech Republic.
Lewis’s management company spokesman, Alfie Lawrance from Interlude Artists said: “On behalf of Interlude I can confirm the onesie and sunglasses are genuine clothing items worn by Lewis and we are happy for CHAS to auction them to help raise funds for the amazing work they do helping children with life-shortening illnesses across Scotland.”
Lousie Jordan from CHAS said: “We are thrilled and privileged that Lewis has chosen to donate this exclusive, fan-favourite outfit to CHAS to help raise vital funds for children with life-shortening illnesses and their families across Scotland.
“As this is one of Lewis’s most popular Instagram outfits ever, it would make a fantastic collector’s item so we’re sure the auction will attract lots of bids from dedicated fans!”
The auction opens on Monday on Ebay and bids can be made on Lewis’s iconic outfit until Sunday.
