Pop megastar Taylor Swift has released her new music video featuring cameos from Lewis Capaldi, Graham Norton and Cillian Murphy.
In a social media post, the American singer-songwriter revealed that the idea sparked in her head when she appeared on the talk show in October last year.
During the show, Cillian Murphy made a joke about Irish actor Domhnall Gleeson’s dancing. The Harry Potter actor then made a tongue-in-cheek comment about starring in a Taylor Swift music video.
His wish came true when Swift sent him a script for the Opalite music video a week later.
The Irishman stars as the ‘lonely man’ alongside the popstar’s ‘lonely woman’. Scottish superstar Lewis Capaldi appears as a mall photographer while Graham Norton plays the ‘spokesperson of nope-alite’.
Oppenheimer’s Cillian Murphy also makes a cameo as the ad voiceover and the face of Opalite.
XActresses Jodie Turner-Smith and Greta Lee, who were also on the Graham Norton Show couch, play parts in the new music video.
Swift wrote: “To my delight, everyone from the show made the effort to time-travel back to the 90s with us and help with this video.
“You might even recognise some friendly faces from The Eras Tour. I got to work with one of my favourite people in the world, Rodrigo Prieto, again!
“I had more fun than I ever imagined – made new friends, metaphors, and fashion choices. It was an absolute thrill to create this story and these characters.”
