The long-awaited sequel to the Halloween favourite Hocus Pocus has arrived on Disney+.

The live-action sequel to the spooky comedy classic sees the return of the delightfully wicked Sanderson Sisters.

Hollywood royalty Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy are returning to their roles – 29 years after the original film hit cinemas in 1993.

While the story of the 17th-century-sisters was hit with mixed-critical reception upon first release, Hocus Pocus has built a loyal fanbase over the years and become a certified cult-classic.

With almost three decades having passed before someone lit the Black Flame Candle and resurrected the ravenous witches, the Sanderson Sisters are out for revenge.

The sequel follows three high-school students as they try to stop the infamous three from wreaking havoc on the city of Salem, all before dawn on All Hallow’s Eve.

The film is directed by Anne Fletcher (Dumplin, The Proposal) and produced by Lynn Harris (King Richard, The Shallows), with Ralph Winter (Hocus Pocus, X-Men franchise), David Kirschner (Hocus Pocus, Chucky), and Adam Shankman (Disenchanted, Hairspray) serving as executive producers.

Hocus Pocus 2 premieres on Friday on Disney+.
