People with red hair are being offered free cinema tickets in a bid to help them avoid the sun as temperatures rise across the UK.
Showcase announced that as redheads are often more vulnerable to the sun than most, the company said those with fairer complexions can pick up a cinema ticket for free.
The tickets can be picked up from the cinema box office for films showing on Monday, July 18 and Tuesday, July 19.
An amber warning for extreme heat is in place across parts of the country and will remain in place until midnight on Tuesday.
It has been predicted that Scotland’s all-time record temperature of 32.9C could be topped early this week.
The Met Office has warned that the heatwave is likely to lead to widespread impact on people and infrastructure.
Speed restrictions are also being put in place on key rail routes in Scotland following the amber weather warning.
Network Rail confirmed train speeds would be restricted between 1pm and 8pm on Monday, which will have an impact on most routes.
A 20mph speed restriction is in place on the stretch of rail between Hyndland and Finnieston in Glasgow, which is thought to be the busiest route in Scotland.
