Arnold Schwarzenegger has said he “cannot wait” to enjoy a few beers in Glasgow when he comes to the city for COP26.
The actor and former Californian governor made the comment during an interview with COP26 president Alok Sharma, which he posted on his Facebook page.
The Glasgow summit, originally slated to take place in 2020 but delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic, will take place in November and will see world leaders come together to tackle the issue of climate change.
Last week, Mr Sharma said the conference will be “our last hope” at limiting global warming to 1.5C.
Schwarzenegger, who will attend the event later this year, interviewed Mr Sharma to bring wider awareness of the event to his fans.
During the interview, Schwarzenegger told Mr Sharma he was drinking British beer from a tankard as they talked.
Mr Sharma said: “I’ll hope when you come [to Glasgow] we can have a few beers in one of our local pubs, I think you’ll enjoy that.
The star replied: “I cannot wait, I cannot wait.”
