Scottish wrestler Nikki A.S.H has won her first singles title in the WWE.

The 32-year-old Glaswegian took the Raw Women’s Championship belt home after defeating Charlotte Flair, the daughter of wresting legend Ric Flair, on Monday night.

She earned the fight after winning a ladder match against seven other contestants just 24 hours earlier.

Both bouts took place in front of live crowds as fans were allowed back into Raw for the first time since the start of the pandemic.

After the fight Nikki said: “I have waited so long to say I am a champion, and tonight felt so good.

“That ring has always been my home and tonight I felt like I was reunited with all my family.

“I got to win one of the most coveted titles in this industry and I got to win it from Charlotte Flair.

“Now Nikki A.S.H (almost a superhero) won this for all the little superheroes out there.”

Nikki, real name Nicola Glencross, is one of three Scottish WWE superstars signed to Raw, along with former champion Drew McIntyre and Piper Niven.

She later Tweeted: “I did that. Go tell that little Scottish girl who dreamed of this moment…… the 18-yea- old girl who joined a small wrestling school in Glasgow, who travelled the world to achieve her dream. Go tell her: You did damn good little Nikki.”
