Seeing Santa in 2020: Drive-thru brings distanced delight

Edenmill Farm in Blanefield has come up with a safe way to see Santa 2020 style.

Trips to see Santa Claus may prove trickier this year with many shops and centres, where he would normally be based, currently closed.

Edenmill Farm in Blanefield has come up with a safe way to see Santa 2020 style, with a Drive Thru experience.

Families take a short trip in their cars through Christmas tree lined paths, passing alpacas and other farm animals along the way, till they come to a cosy cabin, where Santa and Mrs Claus reside.

The big man told STV News: “Santa and his elves, and Mrs Claus, have got all the presents but we keep to social distancing. I know all the girls and boys have been good at that and they want to see that Santa is too.”

In order to do that, Santa has devised a magical present passer, which made 5-year-old Milly chuckle as she said: “It’s funny you’re using that!”

One parent commented: “It felt totally safe and something to be able to enjoy with our girls.”

Another added: “To say to the wee ones that we maybe wouldn’t have got to see Santa this year would have been awful but when he saw he was coming here, and it was in our area, that was great.”
