“Open-minded” single Scots have been invited to take part in a new Love Island style dating show to be filmed under the Greek sun.

The team behind Snog, Marry, Avoid and part of the STV Studios family is hoping lonely hearts tired of endlessly scrolling through Tinder and awkward first dates will sign up for the as-yet-unnamed new series.

“This series will be unlike any dating show we’ve seen before,” said Rosie Bray and Lucy Golding, creative directors at Barefaced TV.

“If you’re single, open-minded, ready to find ‘the one’, and partial to a bit of Greek sun, we’d love to hear from you.”

The series, which is set to air on international streaming service Discovery+, will see 12 singletons jetted off to a Greek island on a quest for true love.

But while it sounds similar to the popular reality show Love Island, the producers say their dating experiment will take a totally new approach to matchmaking.

How exactly it will work is still under wraps but anyone from Scotland who is thinking of applying should be aged between 25 and 35 years old, and “serious about finding long-lasting love”.

To take part, hopeful contestants should email newdatingshow@stv.tv. Applications close on Friday, April 22.
