Sir Rod Stewart has marked the end of the leg of his world tour down under with a new tattoo dedicated to his “beloved” football team.
The 78-year-old hitmaker has just finished touring in Australia and New Zealand ahead of two dates in Mexico and a Vegas residency, but stopped by a tattoo studio in Auckland before jetting overseas.
Posting on Instagram with a photo of him being tattooed, Sir Rod wrote: “Getting a ‘Glasgow Celtic’ tattoo in Auckland to celebrate my beloved team ‘You’re in My Heart’.”
His latest tattoo comes after Celtic’s 3-2 win over Rangers on Saturday.
Later this year, Sir Rod will return to Edinburgh Castle for the first time in 13 years as part of a summer programme of shows.
The singer, whose Edinburgh-born father was a plumber from Leith, said audiences will be “dancing under the stars” at the castle’s esplanade on July 6 as part of his ‘The Hits’ world tour.
