The Oscars will be broadcast on STV after picking up the exclusive rights for the ceremony from Sky.

The 96th Academy Awards will be transmitted live from the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles into living rooms across Scotland on STV and STV Player next March.

It is part of a new multi-year deal with Disney Entertainment meaning future Oscars ceremonies will be made available across STV and ITV platforms and programming, it was announced on Tuesday.

It comes after the 20-year deal between rightsholder Disney and Sky came to an end last month.

At the 2023 Oscars, Michelle Yeoh made history as sci-fi epic Everything Everywhere All At Once took home a clutch of major awards.

The 96th Oscars will air exclusively on STV and STV Player in Scotland on March 10, 2024.
