The founders of T in the Park have responded to claims that the festival will return to Scotland in 2026.
An account with the handle @TITPofficial quickly gained attention on X, formerly known as Twitter, after teasing the return of the popular music festival on Sunday evening.
The page’s first post teased fans by saying: “Guess who’s back #Tinthepark2026”.
The post quickly garnered over one millions views and thousands of interactions from excited fans.
On Monday, the page continued to post, seemingly teasing an announcement on Friday which also gained over 100,000 views.
A spokesperson for DF Concerts and Events confirmed that the account was fake and was originally created under the handle @tinthepark2026.
T in the Park was originally launched in 1994 by DF Concerts in partnership with Tennant’s lager.
The festival was held for the final time in 2016 after moving to Strathallan Castle from Balado airfield in Kinrossshire the year before.
The cancellation of the festival came after major traffic issues during its first year at the new venue.
