Taylor Swift revealed she had some royal fans in attendance at the first night of her sell-out run of concerts at London’s Wembley Stadium after posting a selfie with the Prince of Wales and two of his children.
The US superstar brought her Eras Tour to London on Friday for the first of three sold out shows, performing for around 90,000 fans.
And posting to social media on Saturday, she revealed Prince William was a Swiftie – as he attended the concert with his children Prince George and Princess Charlotte on his 42nd birthday.
Dressed in a sparkling black suit jacket, usually worn during Taylor’s performance of The Man during the Lover era of the concert, William, Charlotte and George grinned as Swift took the photo, with partner Travis Kelce in the background.
Posting on Instagram, Taylor wrote: “Happy Bday M8! London shows are off to a splendid start!”
The Prince and Princess of Wales’ account then posted a photograph of the selfie in motion, adding: “Thank you @taylorswift for a great evening!”
The Princess of Wales and Prince Louis appeared to have missed out on the concert, with Catherine currently undergoing treatment for cancer.
As well as the royals, celebrity fans and friends were also in attendance at the concert, including Bridgerton star Nicola Coughlan, Queer Eye’s Jonathan Van Ness and model Cara Delevingne, as well as Kelce’s brother Jason and Swift’s parents Andrea and Scott.
Taylor Swift will perform two more shows in the capital on Saturday and Sunday, before returning to Wembley Stadium in August to round off the European leg of her tour.
