Famous cartoon family The Simpsons have ventured across the pond for an adventure in Scotland.
In a newly released episode of the long-running show, viewers will see Homer and his family fly to Edinburgh over fears that Scottish character Groundskeeper Willie has been kidnapped.
The episode is titled AE Bonnie Romance and features some of Scotland’s most famous voices including Inverness actor Karen Gillan, who voices Maisie.
After making their way to the land of the brave, the Simpsons quickly realise they’ve been tricked into attending Groundskeeper Willie’s wedding to Maisie.
In true fashion, the trip is not without it’s challenges with Homer and Marge enduring a series of arguments throughout their Edinburgh trip.
However, the long-time loves manage to rekindle their romance at ‘The St Andrews Golf Club’.
Doctor Who star David Tennant also makes an appearance in the episode, voicing a villain who is set to betray Willie and lock away Bart.
Lisa Simpson seems to make the most of her trip to Scotland as she is seen enjoying everything the Edinburgh Fringe Festival has to offer.
Scots band Belle & Sebastian also make an appearance, providing the soundtrack for The Simpsons’ trip to Scotland.
The band, who appear as The Belle and Sebastian Experience in the episode, are set to perform at Willie’s wedding.
They perform an original song entitled Willie and the Dream of Peat Bogs, which is similar to their 1996 hit Judy and the Dream of Horses.
The episode is the eighth instalment of season 35 of The Simpsons and will be available for UK viewers next year.
