The Walking Dead star Andrew Lincoln is set to make his long-awaited return to British TV in upcoming STV thriller Cold Water.
The Love Actually actor stars in the series – which has been written by playwright David Ireland and produced by entertainment group Sister – alongside Trainspotting star Ewen Bremner.
Lincoln stars as John, a depressed man who moves his family from London to the Scottish countryside, where he is befriended by his charming neighbour Tommy (Bremner), who is a devoted husband to the local vicar Rebecca (Eve Myles).
When John and Tommy’s relationship becomes increasingly intense, John’s wife Fiona (Indira Varma) grows suspicious.
And it soon becomes clear that Fiona is right to be worried: when John’s long-repressed rage comes to a head with disastrous results, he finds himself indebted to his new neighbour, unaware that Tommy himself is harbouring sinister secrets.
It’s only after a series of unsettling incidents start to occur that John begins to wonder who the real Tommy actually is.
The series will be executive produced by Chris Fry, Alice Tyler, Lydia Hampson, and Jane Featherstone for production company Sister.
Andrew Lincoln will also produce the series, alongside David Ireland and Brian Coffey.
Cold Water will air on STV and STV Player in the autumn of 2025.
